DISCONNECTING POWER

Disconnection of the electricity supply to your property is required when you need to demolish an existing dwelling.

This process involves disconnecting and removing the overhead or underground service from the electricity network and also disconnecting and removing the metering and other equipment on site belonging to the relevant supply authority.

Once power is disconnected from your building, you may wish to retain the availability of the electricity supply to the vacant block via a Temporary Builders Service for the duration of the construction period.

Your individual circumstances may differ depending on your program, building site and project, so your options after the disconnection will need to be tailored specifically for your requirements.
